A Few of the Many Benefits of Buying Plants from a Local Wholesale Nursery

Written by Family Fun. Posted in Uncategorized

wholesale nurseryDid you know that the average homeowner spends approximately four hours every week caring for their lawn? That’s right, people really love their lawns, and it’s no question why. Lawns are places for fun, relaxation, and socialization, so it makes sense that people want their yards to look nice.

Landscaping plays a big role in how a lawn looks, but you can’t exactly get started with a landscaper unless you know where you’re going to buy your plants from. If you’ve never considered it before, now is the time to think about purchasing your plants from a local wholesale nursery. Here are just a few of the many benefits that come with buying your plants from a wholesale nursery.

Cost Effectiveness
Buying anything for wholesale price is going to be much more cost effective than purchasing it at retail price. The same is true for plants, and it’s why countless landscaping companies invest in wholesale plants for their customers. Whether you’re planting a new tree line or a big bed of your favorite flowers, going wholesale will allow you to purchase more in the long run.

Knowledgeable Staff Members
You’re not going to find the same plant expertise at a home improvement store as you will at a local nursery. Here, the staff members will be exceptionally knowledgeable about plant life, especially those plants native to your area. If you’re working with a landscaping architect, your plants will definitely be from a nursery where the employees are experts.

Native Plant Life
One of the most important things to consider when you’re planting a garden or permanently changing the landscaping around your home is local plant life. Plants that are native to your area will not only grow more effectively, they’ll be healthier and more durable throughout the course of their lives.

Whether you’re just starting out in the world of gardening or you’re a tried and true professional, there’s no arguing that wholesale nurseries are the way to go. Don’t wait to start planning your spring garden today!

Report: Fully 88% Of Hoverboards Sold This Christmas Are Dangerous and Defective

Written by Family Fun. Posted in Uncategorized

Ever since “Back to the Future Part II” hit theaters in 1989 with its campy depiction of 2015, Americans have been obsessed with hoverboards. So it’s fitting that during Christmas 2015 “hoverboards” were the number three top search on Google for toys, although these so-called hoverboards don’t quite live up to the name. Although they most definitely have wheels — that most definitely do not hover off the ground — these futuristic devices became a trending item in 2015. They operate like a Segway scooter but resemble a large skateboard, and the boards became an overnight sensation. Unfortunately, a number of Chinese manufacturers in Shenzhen capitalize on trends like this by quickly pumping out bargain versions of consumer products, only without the regulations, standards, and oversight that Western consumers take for granted. Already, Shenzhen manufacturers have shipped millions of hoverboards, including 400,000 in October ahead of the holiday shopping season. Some of these hoverboards ignite when overheated, posing a serious risk to their owners. Airlines banned the products from their planes, Amazon and other retailers restricted sales, and regulatory bodies in the U.S. and U.K. are sounding the alarm. In December, the U.K. National Trading Standards service reported that fully 88% of the 17,000 hoverboards assessed at U.K. border crossings were deemed unsafe and detained. According to a statement from the regulatory agency, “Officers from National Trading Standards Safety at Ports and Borders Teams and trading standards services in Scotland have detained the boards — a ‘must-have’ on Christmas lists this year — due to a range of concerns, such as safety issues with the plug, cabling, charger, battery or the [thermal cutoff switch] within the board, which often fails. Many of the items detained and sent for testing have been found to have noncompliant plugs without fuses, which increases the risk of the device overheating, exploding or catching fire.” Thermal cutoff fuses are a single-use device designed to automatically cut off electrical flow in the event of overheating, and they’re required by regulators in countries around the world. And according to Quartz.com, “Hundreds of makeshift entrepreneurs, many of whom have no engineering or technology expertise, are doing deals with white-label Chinese manufacturers to make hoverboards. They then re-sell them using names like Phunkeeduck, Swagway, Fiturbo, Hover Booster, Galaxy Board, and Cyboard.” That means many of the hoverboards sold in U.S. stores or bought online were designed with faulty or counterfeit thermal cutoff fuses. “All the hoverboards in the US are sold by importers, who barely even know the factories they are buying it from,” Andrew “Bunnie” Huang, a hardware analyst in Singapore, told Quartz in December. “In a hyper-competitive market that’s driven by a fad, taking six months to do a comprehensive testing program for safety means you’re missing out on a lot of business.”

Looking for the Best in Bed Comfort? This May Be Your Solution…

Written by Family Fun. Posted in Uncategorized

Young woman sleepingIs your bed comfortable? This may not be a question you ask yourself, but it’s something worth paying attention to. One way to know for sure is to see how you feel when you get up in the morning. Are you still tired? Do you feel any aches or pains that only seem to increase with time? If these have been issues for you, it may not just be you. It could be your bed. If you’re trying to gauge your bed comfort, pay attention to these three factors:
  • Memory foam: Memory foam mattresses became popular a few years ago because of how they conform to one’s shape while sleeping. They are also ideal for couples because they won’t disturb one another when they change positions at night. If you’ve been using an old-fashioned spring mattress, it may be time to consider this popular alternative.
  • Adjustable controls: Adjustable beds may make you think of hospital beds, but the adjustable mattresses in homes are nothing like the ones used for medical purposes. These beds come in all sizes, from twin to king size adjustable beds. In fact, king and queen beds may be equipped with dual controls, so each partner can find his or her own optimal comfort level. Adjustable memory foam beds are also popular, so you can combine the comfort of memory foam with the functionality of an adjustable bed.
  • State-of-the-art features: Adjustable controls and memory foam aren’t the only features that are must-haves for bed comfort. Adjustable beds, especially, also come with additional options, like heating and massage functions. If you choose a Craftmatic® brand adjustable bed, for instance, then you can see these two options. These features can provide temporary relief from conditions such as low back pain, minor aches and pains due to muscular fatigue or overexertion, edema or swelling of the legs, poor local blood circulation of the legs, symptoms of hiatus hernia, nighttime heartburn, and symptoms of gastric reflux. Additionally, the heating accessory itself may provide temporary relief from mild arthritis and joint pain, as well as muscle pain associated with stress and tension. This is in addition to the benefits of sleeping in an upright position, which may help reduce or ease light and occasional snoring.

How to Improve Your Health Without Using Drugs

Written by Family Fun. Posted in Uncategorized

Young woman sleepingInvesting in electric adjustable beds is one of the few lifestyle changes you can make that will have a positive impact on your overall health. Here are a few areas of your health that an adjustable bed can lead to improvement: Back Health A flat bed offers no support to your spinal cord, which could be the culprit behind your back pain, or could aggravate a back injury you sustained elsewhere. Many medical professionals who treat back injuries recommend that patients sleep with their back resting at an upward incline and the foot of the bed raised so the knees are bent. This alleviates pressure on the spine while patients are in the same position throughout the night. Reduced Acid Reflux Trying to sleep can be a miserable time for a person suffering from acid reflux. When the person reclines, acid from the stomach moves to the esophagus, which causes an uncomfortable burning sensation in the chest. By using electric adjustable beds, acid reflux sufferers are able to rest with their head 6 to 8 inches above their stomach. Through the power of gravity, the amount of acid that reaches the esophagus is reduced. Improved Sleep Apnea Sleep apnea is a potentially life threatening condition in which the airways are blocked while a person sleeps, preventing them from breathing. The symptoms from sleep apnea can be improved with the use of adjustable bed systems, by naturally readjusting the airways and preventing obstructions such as the tongue from blocking the patient’s ability to breath. Reduction of Restless Leg Syndrome People with restless leg syndrome experience pain or discomfort in their legs when they try to sleep. Most treatments for restless leg syndrome involve medication to mask the pain or induce sleepiness in spite of it. Some patients have found that using electric adjustable beds enables them to elevate the legs into a position that they can sleep comfortably, without medication. Efficient Digestion Looking into adjustable bed options is a good way to improve your digestive health. Lying vertically after you eat inhibits your body’s ability to process food the way it should. By sleeping in an upright position, your digestive system is at the ideal angle for digesting food efficiently. Some studies link improved digestion to weight loss. Craftmatic® Adjustable Beds equipped with optional heat & massage also may provide temporary relief from: • Low Back Pain • Minor Aches and Pains Due to Muscular Fatigue or Overexertion • Edema or Swelling of the Legs • Poor Local Blood Circulation of the Legs • Symptoms of Hiatus Hernia • Nighttime Heartburn • Symptoms of Gastric Reflux • The optional heating accessory provides temporary relief from Mild Arthritis and Joint Pain, as well as Muscle Pain Associated with Stress and Tension • Sleeping in an upright position may Reduce or Ease Light and Occasional Snoring
