When you are looking to have a birthday party, anniversary party or another event, it can be made more if fun if you have a theme. Themed parties that include pirate decor, cartoon characters or some other theme can be a good choice for both child and adult parties. When you are looking for what kind of theme is most appropriate, there are a number of factors to consider.

One theme to consider for your party is a decor that relates to the area in which you live. For example, more than 100 million people live in a county that has shoreline making nautical decor a natural choice. Your nautical decor can be neutral, using a nautical wheel or life preserver, or you might go for a more specific nautical theme decor, such as pirate decor. Even if you don’t live near a body of water, nautical decor usually is a good choice, because there are very few people who don’t like the water.

Another common party decor theme is to use a favorite cartoon or comic book hero. This is often the choice for a child’s birthday party, but it could be good for a themed party for adults as well. For example, you might have people dress up as their favorite superhero for a costume party, and your decor would reflect that theme.

People sometime use colors as the theme of their parties. You might use a red theme or a blue theme. In these cases, you would be looking for decor that is the right color. This might include curtains, tablecloths, plates and napkins, streamers and wrapping paper. This type of theme usually is very easy to pull off, because most stores sell these items in a variety of colors.

Whatever decor theme you choose for your party, you have to make sure it is appropriate and is something that the party guests or guest of honor will enjoy. That may be easy to do if you know the guests well, but if you have some guests you aren’t familiar with, you should do some research to make sure you are making the right choices for your party decor.
